Dear AOS Families,
The recent swift and steep economic downturn caused by the pandemic has created economic uncertainty for many in our community. We know that some of our families may now find it difficult to meet their tuition obligations for the 2020-2021 school year. Our aim at AOS is to continue to serve as a stable force that will support and serve our families through this challenging time. To that end, the school administration and the AOS Board of Trustees have worked together to increase the amount of financial aid available for the 2020-2021 school year.
We encourage every family who is enduring unforeseen financial difficulties to apply for financial aid. We will continue to accept applications on a rolling basis. The financial aid process typically relies heavily on each family’s previous year’s financial information. Because of how quickly this situation has affected all of us, we realize this may not match the current reality. Through the application, you can explain any current hardships such as reduced income or unexpected unemployment. The committee will take this information into account when determining financial aid awards.
We are here to help you in your time of need. Please be assured that any inquiries will be kept in the strictest of confidence. Our school administration and the AOS Board Finance Committee will continue to monitor the economic impact of this pandemic and will continue exploring ways to assist our families who need support.
To apply for financial aid, please contact Bryant Richardson, Director of Finance and Operations, and he will walk you through the directions. Again, the entire process is confidential and no AOS parents or board members sit on the financial aid committee. We are all looking forward to better days, but in the meantime, please know your AOS family is standing by ready to help.
Best,
